La Pine Academy Of Dance Arts Policy Form
1. Tuition is non-refundable. Our tuition rate is based on 34 to 37 weeks of instruction. Even though we do not dance the full month of June, the tuition is still the full month rate. Students will not be allowed to perform in our annual concert if there is a remaining balance on the account. If a class is canceled it will be rescheduled for a later date. If you are unable to make that rescheduled class, the student may attend a class of equal level as a make-up class. We do not pro-rate classes. If you are going to be absent for a period of time, the tuition rate is still the same in order to ensure your child’s spot in the dance class. Tuition is due the first week of every month. The dates will vary month to month. If tuition is not received the first week in the month, there is a $10.00 late charge added to your account. You may make a payment at the front desk, drop it in the payment box inside the reception area at the studio or put it in the mail. Our studio address is P.O. Box 1322. We accept cash, checks and money orders. If you wish to pay for the full year, a 10% discount will be given to you. If you wish to pay for three months at a time, a 5% discount will be given every three months at the time of payment.
2. For every class your child is in, a costume will need to be purchased. For the students on our Elite teams, two costumes will need to be purchased. Each costume is $55.00. If you wish, you may make 3 installment payments of $18.30 on 9/15,10/15 and 11/15. If you have 2 costumes you are paying for on the installment, it would be $36.60. At times we offer fund raisers to help raise funds for your costume. It is entirely up to you if you take part in any fundraisers we offer. Costumes will be ordered December 15th. If costumes are not paid for IN FULL, they will not be ordered. If you fail to purchase the costume in full you take the risk that it will be too late for the company to add to the order and there will be an additional shipping charge as well. Costumes will be given out before pictures are taken some time in the beginning of May. Once you receive the costume, we are not responsible for any damage to the costume. Please do not allow your child to play in their costume or wear it to school.
3. The following are reasons for dismissal: Gossiping, disrespect, lying, stealing, being destructive to studio property, or behaving badly towards another peer. There will be a warning given.
4. If your child is under the age of 4 and is in the middle of potty training or has an occasional accident, we require for safety reasons that they wear a pull up. If your child is not potty trained, we require that they wear a diaper or pull up and that an adult remain available in the lobby at all times.
5. There will be 2 parent watch weeks this year. The first one is scheduled for the week of December 4th through the 8th and the second one is scheduled for the week of April 2nd through the 6th. When attending a parent watch session, please be absolutely respectful to the teacher by remaining quiet throughout the class time. Children are not allowed to attend a parent watch week session.
6. Pets of any kind are not allowed in the studio at any time.
7. There is no rough housing or harsh play in the studio lobby allowed at any time.
8. As a parent, if there is an issue you would like to discuss with Miss April or one of the teachers on staff, you will NOT be allowed to interrupt a class to discuss your concerns. At La Pine Academy Of Dance Arts, we are big on communication. Please communicate with us if there is ever a concern or issue by either calling us or making an appointment to talk with us. We will do everything we can to ease your concerns and solve any mishaps. PLEASE do not write a letter or e-mail us, written things are easy to misread and talking is always the best way to solve any issue.
9. In case of a school closure due to bad weather, we also will be closed and all classes will be re-scheduled. We will still have classes on parent-teacher conference days. Please see the calendar for our break schedule for the year.
10. There is a required dress code for every class. Please see the dress code page. If students arrive for class without the proper shoes or attire, they will be asked to sit out for the class and take notes. The class will not be pro-rated. It is the responsibility of the parent and student to make sure they are dressed properly.
11. It is very important that each student attends as many scheduled classes as possible. When a class is missed, the student gets behind and it effects everyone in the class. If a class is missed during a choreography period, a private lesson may be required in order to catch them up.
12. The returned check fee is $25.00. If more than 1 check is returned due to non -sufficient funds, cash will only be accepted after that.
13. Students are only allowed to show up 10 minutes before class begins. If a parent does not pick a child up and it has been more than 30 minutes with no phone call, a $10.00 per hour child care fee will be charged to your account. If you are going to be late for an unforeseen reason, please call and let us know. We are always flexible.
14. Apparel from our boutique is only returnable if the garment has not been worn or was damaged when you got it home. We will not take any garments back that have been laundered. You must return the item within 10 days of receipt.
15. The studio is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items left in the classrooms, bathroom or lobby area.

They cannot have black bottoms. They also cannot be shoes they wear to school. These shoes have to be just for their class. It does not matter what they look like or how expensive they are. Ross has some great low cut tennis shoes, Target or Payless Shoe Source, any style…. Tie, Velcro, both…whatever works. Shoes are required to participate in this class. Beanies, doo-rags, and caps are okay. For members of the Hip Hop Crew, a pair of black Hip Hop knee pads will need to be purchased before October 1st from the studio. They are $12.00.
